Pep Guardiola ‘happy’ with young Man City side in loss to Bayern Munich

Pep Guardiola said he was happy with the performance of his new Manchester City side despite a 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in his first game in charge.
Both sides were without many of their first-team regulars and Erdal Ozturk's deflected second-half strike was the difference in Guardiola's return to the Allianz Arena after leaving the Bundesliga champions at the end of the season.
The Spaniard has only been working with his new City squad for the past two weeks and said he was pleased with how well his young side performed against Bayern.
"I am so happy, we did many things we spoke about well and in the right moment — that's why we cannot forget which team we played," he told a news conference.
"In the second half we played with a little more intensity and I'm really satisfied with what we did because we've only been together for two weeks.
"Bayern Munich is always a difficult opponent, but we have to grow and get better. I think we have to play games like against Bayern Munich in order to learn and develop more — to get better.
